Quasar is the medium size vehicle in SMD’s Q-Series Work ROV range.  Utilising the latest “multi-platform” Curvetech components, the vehicle offers class leading performance and exceptional tooling capability.

Quasar is an excellent all-round performer and is suitable for the following sectors and tasks:

  • Light construction including pipelay support and TDM
  • IRM, pipeline and platform inspections including CP & FMD
  • Drill support, completion & well intervention including BOP shut down, fluid injection, hot stabbing, drilling and tapping, gasket change out

Inspection Class ROV – Lynx

The Seaeye Lynx are widely regarded as the leading inspection class vehicle within the oil and gas industry. Increasingly they are also being taken up as the ROV of choice by military and scientific customers seeking increased capabilities in deep water.  With a depth rating of 1500m, the Lynx has a very stable platform and is able to perform well in strong currents and under the harshest conditions, providing excellent handling and maneuverability.

The open frame construction and generous payload offer the possibility of adding a wide range of tools and sensors as well as interchangeable tool skids.

Work Class ROV – ATOM

Atom

ATOM is an ultra-compact hydraulic work class ROV system, comparable in size to an electric WROV system. The ROV is suitable for drill support, survey and light construction duties and can be mobilised on vessels and rigs with limited deck space. Designed with ease of operation and maintenance in mind, the Atom boasts the latest DVECSII distributed control, graphical displays and pilot aids coupled with proven powerful Curvetech™ components. Atom is supplied as a complete package with SMD’s ultra-compact TMS, A-frame, winch, 20’ control container and 20’ workshop container.

DP2 Vessel – NPP Nusantara

NPP Nusantara is an Indonesian flagged DP2 Dive Support Vessel, chartered on a long term basis by Bintang Subsea. Designed and built to a high specification for its class, the NPP Nusantara is equipped with an inbuilt 200m ABS Classed 15-man Saturation Diving system, SPHLB and a 3-man bell deployed through a moonpool, plus a dual LARS Air Diving system.

The vessel is fitted with a 50T Subsea Crane, and the option of Inspection Class and/or Work Class ROV Systems complete with a range of sensors including high precision USBL, multibeam echosounders, inertial navigation, and digital video systems.
